Huawei could present its new folding smartphone at the Mobile World Congress, an event held in Barcelona to present everything related to mobile communication.
The Chinese company will show at least one smartphone with a 5G network with its new Kirin 980 processor. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, announced that among its 5G devices to be seen at the event, will include a folding screen.
Taking into account that the smartphone trend points towards foldable screens, Richard Yu, through a session held in Beijing, said that Huawei would launch the first 5G mobile device with foldable screen.
The MWC is speculated to be the perfect pretext for the 5G network and foldable screens to share the limelight.
For example, Samsung could announce its 5G version of the Galaxy S10 next February 20, along with other versions such as S10 Lite or S10 Plus.
When will Huawei present its new folding smartphone?
If all goes well, it is likely that the Chinese company will present its new equipment on February 24th.
Other brands such as Samsung, Oppo and Xiaomi could show advances in folding technology, but Huawei is the first company to openly confirm what consumers will see at the Mobile World Congress.
As far as price and availability are concerned, they still don’t reveal details, but we’ll know soon enough at the MWC.
