Set in mature woodlands, the shooting ground at Westlands is CPSA registered.
This means that the ground can hold registered shoots for the competitive
shooter.
We have laid down pathways to all the shooting positions (which have concrete
bases).
We have Skeet, Down the Line (DTL) and Sporting with full seven days a week
planning permission.
All the 12 sporting stands, one of which is elevated, run with a clay mate controller. This enables a shooter to go and practice on his own as it can run a delay from
the handset.
The DTL has an acoustic release system run through the clay mate, the skeet is
again on a clay mate hand set.
We also have two hydraulic towers. One is approximately 70 ft and has two traps fitted,the other is around 55 ft
with one trap fitted.
The Promatic traps are as follows:- 10 Supersporters, 2 Rangers 1RH and 1LH, 1
Chondell, 1 Rabbit, 2 Battue, 2 midi, 2 Skeet, 1 DTL.
The remaining traps are Laporte 180 pc. This gives a total of 28 automatic traps on the ground.
